EMDR Consultation for Therapists
Supporting therapists doing deep, meaningful work
let’s be honest:
Being a good therapist doesn’t mean EMDR always feels intuitive.
You’ve completed basic training. You’re excited about EMDR and the potential it holds for your clients. But when you begin integrating it into real clinical work, things can feel less clear.
Clients present with complex trauma histories. Sessions move in unexpected directions. Blocks appear in processing. You start wondering if you’re doing it “right.”
You might be ask yourself:
“Am I missing something in this case formulation?”
“Is this a block, a protector, or something I should be doing differently?”
“Why does EMDR feel smooth with some clients but completely stuck with others?”
“How do I stay within the protocol while also responding to the complexity in front of me?”
Many EMDR therapists experience a period of uncertainty after training. Not because they aren’t capable, but because EMDR is a powerful and nuanced therapy model that deepens with practice and consultation.
maybe you’re experiencing…
Protocol Uncertainty
Feeling unsure about when to stay with the standard protocol and when clinical flexibility is appropriate.
Case Conceptualization Overwhelm
Working with complex trauma, dissociation, or attachment wounds and questioning where to begin or what target to prioritize.
Processing Blocks
Sessions that stall, loop, or don’t move forward the way you expected.
Confidence Gaps
Knowing EMDR can be transformative for clients, yet still feeling unsure about your own clinical instincts with the model.
Clinical Isolation
Feeling like you’re figuring it out alone without a space to think through cases with someone experienced in EMDR.
You’re simply in the stage where EMDR shifts from theory to embodied clinical skill.
And that’s exactly where thoughtful consultation can make the difference.

how i can help
From “Am I doing this right?” to “I know exactly what to do next.”
EMDR consultation is more than simply collecting hours toward certification.
It’s a space to deepen your clinical thinking, strengthen your confidence with the model, and develop your own voice as an EMDR therapist.
In our work together, you don’t have to show up with everything figured out. You can bring the cases that feel stuck, confusing, or uncertain and we’ll make sense of them together.
This is a collaborative, reflective space where you can slow down, think out loud, and not feel pressure to have the “right” answer.
My goal is not only to support you in meeting requirements for EMDRIA Certification, but to help you develop a relationship with EMDR that feels clear, sustainable, and aligned with who you are as a clinician.
You don’t have to keep second-guessing yourself.
Let’s make your EMDR work feel clearer, more intentional, and easier to move forward.
Move from Uncertainty to Clarity
Together, we may focus on:
Strengthening Case Conceptualization
Developing clear treatment planning through the Adaptive Information Processing (AIP) model and identifying targets that move therapy forward.
Refining Protocol Skills
Deepening your understanding of the standard protocol while also exploring when clinical flexibility is appropriate.
Culturally Responsive Case Conceptualization
Exploring how cultural identity, systemic stressors, immigration experiences, intergenerational trauma, and racialized experiences may shape a client’s nervous system, memory networks, and EMDR processing - particularly when working with BIPOC clients.
Navigating Processing Blocks
Understanding what may be happening when sessions stall, loop, or feel confusing - and exploring ways to move through these moments thoughtfully.
Working with Complex Trauma
Thinking through cases involving attachment wounds, dissociation, developmental trauma, and layered trauma histories.
Building Clinical Confidence
Supporting you in trusting your clinical instincts while staying grounded in the EMDR model.
Are we a good fit to work together?
We’re a good fit if…
You’ve completed EMDR Basic Training and are working toward integration of the model and/or EMDRIA Certification
You want to deepen your understanding of EMDR beyond the basics
You want support integrating cultural awareness into EMDR
You’re looking for a collaborative, non-hierarchical consultation space. A space that values reflection and curiosity in your clinical work
We’re not a good fit if…
You are not yet trained in EMDR Therapy -OR- have not completed your basic training requirements.
You’re looking for quick answers or rigid, step-by-step instruction only
You are not open to exploring cultural, systemic, or identity-based factors in clinical work
You prefer a highly directive or evaluative consultation style
If you’re reading this and thinking,
“This feels like the kind of support I’ve been needing,”
there’s a good chance we may be a strong fit!
